This month, the Poster is a photo of a very simple bowl in clay I made myself for morning tea or for soup, a direct influence of Junichiro Tanizaki (1886-1965) a prominent Japanese writer and essayist who amongst other things wrote the famous In praise of shadows. These days my heart is in Japan.

"Eloge de l'ombre", un titre bien à propos et de circonstance...

"What lies within the darkness one cannot distinguish, but the palm senses the gentle movements of the liquid, vapor rises from within forming droplets on the rim, and the fragrance carried upon the vapor brings a delicate anticipation.. A moment of mystery, it might almost be called, a moment of trance."

Jun'ichiro Tanizaki, Harper & Seidensticker, trans.

Superposter.
